Council to lease Fairy Hills Kindergarten to private company

Notice of intention to lease

 Notice is given that, pursuant to Section 190 (3) of the Local Government Act 1989 (the Act), Banyule City Council intends to lease to TRY Australia Children’s Services the land and buildings known as 7 Thyer Road, Ivanhoe (being the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 5722 Folio 341).

It is intended that TRY Australia Children’s Services will operate an Education and Care Service (as defined in the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010) from the premises, primarily for the benefit of the ratepayers of the City of Banyule (including those who are socially and/or financially disadvantaged and people with special needs).

Submissions regarding the proposal will be considered in accordance with Section 223 of the Act.

Written submissions should be forwarded to the Chief Executive Officer, Banyule City Council, 275 Upper Heidelberg Road Ivanhoe or mailed to PO Box 51 Ivanhoe 3079 by 3 September 2013. Any person who makes a submission incorporating a request to be heard will be entitled to appear in person, or be represented by a person acting on their behalf, before a meeting of the Council.

Submissions are considered public documents and are available for public inspection for a period of 12 months.

Fairy Hills Kindergarten is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm during Victorian school term. The Kindergarten is not open on public holidays.

I have heard it is closely and extensively guarded by security guards - I have seen them nearby - but have not spoken to them myself- ED

Has anyone else been told by security to stop using south grounds / main oval recently. It was previously available to local residents before fences went up?

HI Jess / sorry for my late reply: Indigenous history is a bit guarded -as sites could be damaged if they were published. Call me 0427949951 for some tips.
